The homeowners of this Peters Township home wanted a larger outdoor living area and entertaining space for their home. The existing kitchen now opens into an extended family room above a large screened in outdoor deck, complete with fireplace for chilly nights in early spring and late fall. Two other fireplaces were added, as well: one in the first floor family room and one facing the rear yard and terrace. A staircase provides convenient access to the yard.

The design mimics details of the house, including the scale and proportion of an existing chimney and the series of arches along the outside of the rear main floor entrance.
