With a view like this, the only thing missing was the perfect house. The homeowners lived in a 1950s split-level on this lot but quickly outgrew it. Desiring a more functional, contemporary design that would accommodate their family and feature the unique view of Pittsburgh, they opted to demolish the split-level and build a completely new two-story unit on the foundation.

The exterior structure is now contemporary with cantilever balconies facing the city. Inside, the ceiling height is elevated compared to the previous first floor structure. In the main floor living space, flow was improved with an open floor plan, while dining room windows perfectly frame the view of downtown Pittsburgh. The top floor houses four bedrooms and two bathrooms and an additional living area. A garage and an office occupy the basement space, along with a 3/4 bath and entry hall.
