A dark existing kitchen needed to be brighter and open to the family room for a lighter, more modern and welcoming living area for these homeowners. Adding new cabinets with additional height and interior lighting helped expand the room and feature the lofty ceiling. A French door and new position for the solo window allowed more natural light to penetrate the space. Removing the wall that blocked flow from the kitchen to the family room created a room that is open, bright, and spacious: a favorite place for the family to spend time.
